The Schena Family opened the Chit Chat Lounge in 1959. The lounge extends a warm “Thank you” to Gary Schena, sister Marge, and other Schena family members, musicians, staff, and loyal patrons who helped to make Chit Chat Haverhill’s gathering place for music, friends and drink.

The lounge was then passed on to Stephen and Debbie Doherty who owned the Chit Chat for 7 years. During their time as owners Stephen and Debbie made major renovations to the property, increased the number of bands that played, and worked to honor the business by bringing it to the next level.

In March of 2016, Stephen and Debbie passed the torch to new managers Joe & Sheila DiFraia. Joe and Sheila are both honored and excited to continue the storied tradition of good music and good times at the Chit Chat Lounge.
